Well, Steelseries has fixed that with their flagship speaker system, the Arena 9. And, there aren’t many computer speaker setups that will give you a true 360 degrees of audio.
Turning on virtual surround sound for a pair of headphones or a set of speakers only approximates that fully immersive experience. Nothing can replace the experience of real surround sound. We’ve tested more than our share of computer speakers, and we can honestly tell you that there are bargain basement speakers for lesser known brands that punch above their weight. But that also doesn’t mean you need to spend a lot.
If you want to truly experience music, gaming, or the newest movie the way they were intended, you owe it to yourself to get a speaker setup that can do whatever media you’re hoping to consume justice. And, now that many of the best USB microphones have algorithms built in to minimize background noise, you can use computer speakers even when chatting with others without fear of echoes or feedback. While a strong case can be made for the best PC gaming headsets or best headphones, there will be times when you want to take those off your head and give your outer ear a bit of respite.
Not if you truly want an immersive experience whether you’re gaming, blasting tunes, or watching the latest superhero flick. Built-in speakers on your laptop or monitor are hardly adequate, even the ones on the MacBook Pros, which admittedly are pretty impressive for laptop speakers.
